New UK scrubber! Waterfall design but how many screens?

    Hello!

I have just started building my scrubber today and the plastic canvas is coming tomorrow. I'm trying to work out how many layers of canvas i should use. I will be running a lamp on either side probably a 24w CFL 2700k My tank+sump is around 550L with my sump has the return going into the refugium fire then into the skimmer compartment then to return pump compartment. So I have planned a 9" wide screen and 11" tall (1" in the water). I have two pumps both 1200l/h the one in the pictures has a filter and valve built in to change the flow amount. I'm thinking i should have 3 layers of canvas that way it will always keep a nice bit of algae in the center to seed the out sides when cleaned. Is it worth doing or just stick with one sheet? I was also thinking this would let me clean each side at different times so there is always a good amount growing.
The water level is just under the bottom of the unions.

Doh the uploader changed the pics to landscape!

    Welcome from the UK.

Always use only one layer of canvas; more layers just increases the shaded parts, which causes the growth to die quicker.

Look at the sizing guideline and see if your plan was good:
