so what would be the right size pump for a scrubber 24 inch long and 4 inch in height?
A waterfall needs 35 gph per inch of width of screen [60 lph per cm], at least. So 35 X 24 = 840 gph, at least. I would do 1200.
ive got 3600lph pump but it just does not seem to cover the media properly just in bits here and there. it does not have a height to pump or any restrictions. i take it i am pumping 37.5 gallons per inch? should i make my slot wider as its very snug if so have you got any tips to do the slot
1200 gph = 4542 lph, so your pump is less than the minimum to fill the screen. Besides getting a bigger pump, you could try taping 8" of the pipe slot, and cutting 8" vertically off of the screen.
What sort of tape could i use?
Just use plastic sandwich wrap, with one piece of tape at the top so the adhesive on the tape does not get wet.
