    enclosed waterfall scrubber

Posting this from my phone so adding pics right now won't happen

I built a enclosed water fall scrubber

    12x9x1/4" acrylic box
    11x8" screen
    5-660nm leds
    700ma constant driver
    mj1200 for flow
and I used a old amp for a heatsink

I will post pics when I'm at the pc as I'd like to get feed back

I started the scrubber this morning on a 12hr on off schedule so I should see growth in a few days

    Ah see it now. 1-sided?

I'd use 10 LEDs. Maybe have the second group of 5 on a separate driver. Also, 700ma is strong; 500 or 600 might last longer.

However making it 2-sided would be the over best improvement if you could do it.

The 660's I used asked to be driven at 700

You really think I need 5 more leds?

With the current setup what would be a suggested light schedule

    Yes 5 more.

Always start off with 18 hours.

I bumped up the light timing but im thinking 30 watts of leds is way overkill

you have a really big screen though, do you feed a ton of food?

You should read this post by Turbo over on Reef 2 Reef

    http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/do-y...ml#post2013141

Basically he says one LED on both sides of every 8 square inches is a minimum. So with 88 square inches you would want like 10 or 11 LEDs per side, and that's the minimum, he says you can go to twice that or 20 LEDs per side! But I suppose that is only if you actually feed enough that you need a screen that is so big
