    Switching to led.

I have made a santa monica 100. im not happy with the amopunt of electrics involved with the t5 lighting. i would like to switch to led.
I have 48 watts either side of the screen, does this mean i would need to use 24watt of led light to replace and also i take it the led would need to sit away from the clear acrylic , but how far would it need to sit away.
    Thanks
    Vince

At least 24 LED watts on each side; better would be 2 x 24 watts each side, so you can do a low power mode.

It only needs to be 2" away.

For a new screen you want half power until it fills in.

Yes could be 48 x 1w on each side; 24 on one supply, and 24 on another supply.

Or could be 16 x 3w on each side; 8 on one supply, and 8 on another supply.

You don't need any blues if you dont' want them. If you do, do 1 blue for every 5 or 6 red.
