    LED wattage consumption

    Hi

Trying to get my head around the maths of Scrubbers and have a question around the use of Watts. For example if I required a total of 20watts on for 9 hours and I got a 40watt fixture would it be a case of just halving the time the light is on? Or does the high wattage have a negative effect on the algae growth or burn it?

    Thanks
    Steve

Too high wattage from an LED fixture can inhibit growth and "burn" it.

Keep in mind that the flow over the screen also is a factor. Higher flow rates of water allow you to use higher wattage up to a point.

You may just need to experiment a bit.
