Is this the type of Algae I should be growing?

I just got back from vacation and this stuff was everywhere. It is long and stringy about medium green in color. My screen is 10.5x12 and powered by 20 deep red and 4 rb leds per side from steves led. Growth is 10x better then when I used a single 23w cfl per side.

The dark green stuff was what was under the lighter green stringy algae.

Yes looks good. You have 144 total watts in LED, which would be about 288 total watts of CFL. But you only had 46 total watts of CFL.

A 120 square inch screen needs at least 120 total real CFL watts, and preferrably total 220 CFL watts.

Yep your right I was only getting the algae to grow in a small circle in the middle before. Amazing what a lil light can do.

    Thanks
