Going 24 x7 lights, was counter productive, nitrates shot up to 40++ in two days.
After 2x wc back in the orange. Set light on a 6x1, my timer only allows 3 periods in 24 hours.

Screen with mixed growth, from daily rubbing with a pencil .
I think that the red/purple thrives in water with a very high, dissolved organic content. My only problem. Is it takes more scrubber space. Than planed for.
So I started "plowing it thru, rather than scrubbing off" It is attached well enough to hang on in strands, rather than peel off. Allowing the greener stuff some breathing room.
It is keeping up with the nitrates produced, as long as I am not scraping it clean.

Yes that lets light into the darker areas, allowing them to grow greener.

Scrubber chamber, has about 4 " of water, that's just packed full of copods. Daphnia, I flush them into the tank every couple of weeks.

Nitrates have gone down to 12ppm. With scrubber only,
Lights are on 5 hours off 3 hours, 24x7 cycle.
Added some steel dust, it's rusting on a magnet.

The light illuminating the screen for photo purposes is more yellow, as I changed my maintenance light to a 3000k 5 watt Led.

Scraped off a section to see what grows back. Nitrates still holding steady.

Latest growth. Mostly all green. My guess is that the additional scrubber I added is reducing the overly nutrient rich water.
Also feeding a sinking pellet. Which is quicker to remove if uneaten.

Changed out tank lights. 24" led 100 watt reef light.
    1 48" 50/50 t-8, 1 48" 6500K t-8.
Changed back ground. Centered green growth under led.
    Scrubbers still going strong.
