    Latest growth.
The plastic mirror, edges are HD GRADE duct taped , which I know is water proof.
If it lasts a year great, as it easy to redue.

Latest growth, no signs of burning, nitrates are at about 8 ppm. Slowing declining. I cleaned the screen today and roughed it up with a course saw blade. The water flow was pretty low today as the algae was

Day 0 and day 2, looks like it's not burning. So off to a good start.
I am thinking about starting a new screen, outside in sunlight. That would be covered in green hair algae, before I put it online. To see if the purple algea, can take root in it.

Nitrate has been fluctuating from 18ppm down too 8ppm as the algea matures and is scraped off.

Still on the 6 on 2 off lighting timer.

Also added a 12volt 3Cfm air blower, into the scrubber, as I felt the sealed compartment, might have had negative effects.

Top side looking down, two lights are at 45 degrees, pointed into the mirror. The other two light are at a 90 degree angle to the scrubber.
Water comes in at both ends of the Pvc slotted pipe, slip fitting.
The tube in the center, is from the basement 55 g drum.

No need for a fan; the algae can pull in CO2 through the most tiny hairline cracks.

This is day 4, starting to thicken up, it is a red beard type hair algae, mixed with green. I am just going to let it grow this time, and watch my nitrates, to see how effective it is.
So far the highest reading was 20 ppm, while doing 40% water changes, every 10 days.
Recently did a 50% change with 10ppm tap, and back around 15ppm.

Day 5, purple algea, is about 2mm thick, it comes of the screen in chunks if rubbed, leathery feeling.
Nitrates are at 10 ppm ☺
