Has someone tried to upsize this, making a AIO skimmer/UAS using a skimmer pump? Something similar to a Bubble Magus A5 in size, using the same pump, for example. Can it work?

I don't know if someone else has, but I have not. I'm still using this setup in my quarantine tank and it works fantastic almost 2 years later. The exception is the "skimming" portion of it. The algae eventually grew over the air stone and the bubbles are now large enough that it doesn't really make skim anymore. I have not made any attempt to change that as I never really intended for it to be a skimmer. I'm sure you could make it work, you would just need a way to keep the light from reaching the pump or it would eventually be covered in algae too.
