battery air pump for power outage

    Hi SM,

I'm considering to tee with check valve to my current air line, a battery powered air pump (the one that has a plug which is used to detect power failure).

Focusing on the scrubber itself, assuming good growth, and a power outage hits, will the UAS scrubber benefit with only the air pump (no LEDs), aside from aeration/ water movement? Biological filtering?

    Thanks.

keywords: blackout, black out, power failure,

Yes it will help keep it alive longer, maybe 3 days.

What would be the difference be between a 3 day blackout that people sometimes do to rid GHA in the tank vs (essentially) a 3 day blackout within the scrubber?

How does the water movement/aeration help, if it does, to keep the GHA alive longer? Nutrient delivery?

Display has nothing to do with scrubber.

If the growth is thick in the scrubber, it will probably start to die in 2 days without flow, and 3 or 4 days with flow. Algae still absorb nutrients in the dark.
