A few days ago l started to suspect maybe it could be the sand that leaks nitrate or something. Sure enough, unused sand direct from the bag read 10-15ppm.
First l cleaned the Tropic eden sand several times in ro/di, and 2days later l did a test which was today.

What do you guys think about this, should l remove the sand in a period of 2weeks or so? I do stir the sand now and then, and syphon the whole bed once a week.
I try to keep this tank/sump as clean as possible by syphon/clean the walls/sump chambers, change floss 2-3 times a week, turkey blast the rocks and also underneath the rock structures.

No need to do any sand cleaning. Just let it cycle.

This tank was cycled a month before i got any fish. I just keept feeding the bacteria with liquid ammonia.

Everything got delayed because of the hard winter we had, and i was not able to drive to the popular SW store for a few weeks.

It is still too new. Has not even developed any periphyton on the rocks yet. Just let it continue.

So it's pretty normal with high nitrate with other words, and no need for a scrubber for the moment?

40 is not bad. As periphyton develops on the rock, it will drop.
