    Surf4x scrubber turf algae question

    Hi all ,

I've not been on here for a good while. I've had my surf4x scrubber for over 12 months. It never really grew much. However I put this down to running a zeovit system so my nitrates and po4 always remained very low. However I've now gone to clean my scrubber and have seen this bright green algae. It's not stringy like hair algae. My po4 went really high to about 0.350ppm. However I reduced the majority of this in 3 steps using ATM agent green.

Here is what I pulled from the scrubber. And since having it have never seen anything like this. I take it this is all good stuff.

Haven't tested my po4 yet but my last test showed it at 0.055ppm

Yes that is what kept your nutrients from shooting up even higher. The idea is to keep the compartment mostly full of that so that nutrients are removed quickly after feeding etc.
