    Adhesive Question

Hello... I'm trying to do a DIY upflow scrubber similar to Santamonica's HOG units. I'm trying to attach some small stone on the back wall of the inside half "food container" using aquarium silicone, but it tends to peel off easily. I've tried to sand the plastic to rough it up a little also. Has anyone used a different epoxy or RTV that won't peel off so easily?

    Thanks,
    MR

    Welcome.

Rough the container with sandpaper. Clean with alcohol several times. Use Devcon 2-ton epoxy, not silicone.

It will hold the rocks, but I have not used it because I remember reading something about a possible bad chemical in it, which is not in the 30 minute version. But I've not heard of any problems from anyone else who may have used it.
