Yellow water from Algae scrubber

Hi,

I am using algae scrubber, but the water turn into yellow.

I am informed that the yellow water may not be good for coral growth.

Is that true?

Welcome,

That is caused on waterfalls by not cleaning often enough. The bottom layers die and turn into "hay", which is yellow.

Does not hurt corals, except it reduces light in the display a little, and of course filtering is reduced.

Clean more often, and have a light on both sides of a white screen.

Upflow scrubbers do not have this problem.
