    Rain 2 help needed

Red Sea reefer 350, had the Rain 2 online for over two months now.

I keep getting nothing but slime, brown algae, and this white fluffy stuff. I've scrubbed it with a toothbrush several times.

    NO3 - not detectable
    Po4 - .02
    Calc - 470
    All - 8.7
    pH ranges from 8.1 - 8.3

Mixed reef, not a lot of algea growing in the display. Tank is 1.5 years old.

    Trying to upload pics.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Welcome,

Is basic over-lighting. How many lights does your Rain have, and how many are plugged in?

It has 4 lights, I only have 2 plugged in. One on each side.

Too much light for low nutrients with a new screen. Looks like they are the bottom lights. Brush all the yellow off of the screen, and clean the tray and slot too. Run just 1 top light for 10 days, and feed more nori, or dose iron. You can double your feeding if you like.

Should I completely clean the screen? Like start from scratch?

Brush all the yellow off. It won't be as clean as it looks.

Ok, I scrubbed it until it looks almost new. I have just one light near the top on. We'll see how it looks in a week or so.
