    pod on screen

    still getting pods eatting the algae , how can i stop this , cleaning screen every seven days ? lights on 16 on 8 off , good flow , good lighting ?

    Yep is definately pods. Since the algae is dark, clean all the way down to the plastic every 5 days, in Freshwater.

    been cleaning down to canvas every 7 days , would realy like to start seeing some good results as ive been trying this method of filtration on and off now for a few months , my phoshate lvl is high and its affecting my nem ,
    ps cheers sm will clean every 5 days .

    Ok give us an update an update on everything:

    Size of screen.
    Gallons in display.
    Type of bulb for scrubber: Watts, Kelvin, and age. (30 W x 4?)
    How many hours the scrubber lights are on.
    Amount, and what, fed per day.
    Mechanical filters, including skimmer?
    GPH on the screen

    Size of screen. 10 x 10 double sided theres two screens but just run 1 at this time
    Gallons in display. 128uk gallons
    Type of bulb for scrubber: Watts, Kelvin, and age. (30 W x 4?) 4 x 30 watts cfl 3 week old
    How many hours the scrubber lights are on. 18 on 6 off
    Amount, and what, fed per day. 2 cubes of frozen artemia " brine shrimp " in the morning , 2 at night
    Mechanical filters, including skimmer? no other filtration at all algae scrubbers are the way forward thats why ill persevere
    GPH on the screen grav feed from main tank 32mm pipe gph on screen a good 10 x 35gph 350 g

    i think i have all the right ingredient's to grow green algae , the light chambers are rapped in hydroponic diamond reflective sheeting the best you can buy , just cant understand why iam not getting good results ? :?

    Ok, your problem is "kick starting" the screen. Using the second screen would help a lot, since your screen is small. Reduce the nutrients with other methods for about a month, and the green will start filling in.
