    dimensions of screen question

In the beginning it said the general rule for the screen is dependent on the size of the tank 12x12= 144=144G tank. Later on, it states it doesn't matter how high it needs to be. Will more height become a problem? For example if i have a 12x12 and my tank is only 75G, will there be an issues? The reason I ask is because the water level in my sump is really low, just enough to cover the return pump. So if i lower the screen all the way down to let it touch the water, i would have a hard time positioning my lights to aim directly at the screen. So if i just attach an extra screen at the bottom of the first screen to let it sit in the water, is this okay? Should I still scrub the bottom screen down or it doesnt matter. As long as the light can accomodate the 12x12 area, it doesn't matter how much extra screen you have left over?

As long as you have the minimum area, with the proper lighting, then the extra length at the bottom will not hurt.
