    After last advice (1 scrape for 3 days) my tank achieved PO4 0.07 (hanna) from 0.36 - 4 weeks ago.

    I'm continually impressed at what these can do. I've been purposely overfeeding quite a bit to see how far I can push it, and phosphate has yet to get above .01 ppm (used to be .03). Nitrate never registered to start with and still doesn't.

    Anyway, I'm glad to see you've gotten your phosphate under control. Congrats!

    how about trace elements? they are probably consumed by algae much more than in skimmed tank. is it correct? how about iodan, iodate?

    Algae can be a significant sink for metals, etc. Many, especially red and brown algae, uptake quite a bit of iodide/iodate. I don't recommend adding it back, because you can't keep track of any influx via other sources, of which food is often a significant contributor.

    And just think how much iron is in nori too. Remember that algae is 90% of the life in the ocean (except bacteria), so if algae gives or takes something, then you can bet that it's the way it should be to operate correctly. I don't dose anything really.

    best po4 result - 0.02
    next week - 2.5mg (end of scale in hanna) - i suppose that's because bad DI, i change it for new and fresh one.
    i had bought ECOPHOS One liter and set it.
    next week - 0.09 mg/l
    and next week later (today) - 1.09

    what is going on?
