    Finally pick my butt up to do some modification to expand the slit. Now the flow is a lot more even

    How is your tank running now? I plan to DIY a ATS like yours too, but now the lighting problem troubles me.
    Would you like to tell me the color tempreture of your lighting?

    Most are using the around 2300K so they can get more of the red spectrum to promote algae growth.

    40G. Fish/Reef. Algae Scrubbers on ALL my SW
    10G. SW Fish/Reef.

    The problem is that I can get at least 6500K tubes for such lamp holder product.

    Even a cool white or warm white t-5 bulb would work as these are about 4100K. If not use the 6500K and see what happens until you find a lower "K" rated bulb.
