    Acrylic splash shield lighting penetration

I am looking at building and designing a turf scrubber on a large system (400 gallons). I am looking at building an enclosure for the canvas made of acrylic. Will having the lighting on the outside with it having to penetrate through the acrylic have any effect on algae growth. I don't think it will but I thought I'd ask the experts first.

It's does reduce it 10 or 15% or so, but if you have plenty watts then you are fine. The trick is to not scratch the acrylic when you clean it... if it has salt crystals on it you'll want to wet it first before wiping it.
