    Yellow Spots

Finally got the flow right on my scrubber now and the algae in the tank is beginning to melt like it should. Decided to add another light to speed up the process. Just put the light on a week ago and although I got a really good harvest of algae this weekend, there are a couple of yellow spots showing up. Just wondering if this is something I should worry about. I read in the faq that it may be due to a lack of iron. Is this possible or is it just a lack of phosphates?
Sorry, my cameras not very good for closeups.

Yellow is too much light for how much iron/flow you have. Fix by increasing flow. If you can't increase flow, add iron. Also try spreading out the lights so they don't concentrate on one spot.

I've found that flow on my pipe would make too much noise with 3mm, now I'm probably using 5-6mm wich is alot better, then again, i have alot of water passing through.

Also, it's fed from both sides.

    Unhappy Re: Yellow Spots

I'm using a double screen on my ATS's but my cuts only about 4 m.m.
I'm wondering if I should make the slot wider or would this cause it
    to start squirting water??

What I did was to drill holes in the pipe on the slot to even out the pressure. Do a 6-8mm drillbits uniform holes along the slot and you won't have spraying. Seen others doing it also here.

Thanks for the advise on the drilled holes. I'll give it a try!
