    My design

I used a rectangular PVC design to have two screens. I was a little worried about not having enough surface area. Since I'm taking out my skimmer I utilized the pump from a coralife 125 protien skimmer.I'm not sure how powerful the pump is. Hope this makes enough flow. The PVC is about 12x5 inches 1/2 inch in diameter I think. The screen was 10x14 but there is about 3 inches under water. I may later raise the PVC now it just sits on the top of my premade Berlin sump. I found an outdoor spot light spike at lowes I'm using for the light it came w a plug so no wiring plus has a rubber seal for around base of bulb, might help keep bulb a little safer from evaporation. The light bulb has been a challenge to find and what I've read people use to see what may work best. 120v 23w cfl floodlight I think close to 5000k (I'll double check) bulb seated between screens hopefully will create a on sided double screen. To clean one then the other a few days later. Today is the first day running. I did take some algae growing in tank and "seed" the screen ??? My nitrates are through the roof!!! And w frustration from numerous water changes and adjusting feeding. Algae on rocks n having to clean the glass all the time. I hope this helps solve my problems.

    Will add pics soon.
    Won't work from my phone??!!

Take several more pics of the screen, sump, and bulb. Take a pic of the bulb with it unscrewed.

    Solution:

    Remove one of the screens.

Rough up the other screen on both sides with a hole saw.

Move the bulb lower so you can point it at the middle of the screen, 4" away.

Add another bulb on the other side.

Remove the foam and pebbles, and any other foam/screen/mesh from the sump.

    Clean every 7 days.
