    first scrubber

After reading for months and the help of a few, my wife and I built the scrubber, it is a vertical design with a 10x13 screen for a 125g tank. It is fed with a 1000gph pump. I am not getting flow across the whole screen, the first 3 inches of the screen does not get any flow at all, the screen is laid with the 13'' horizontally. The pipe is 1'' pvc, it seems the pump just blasts the water to the end of the pipe and the water rebounds to the slot. the slot is not perfect, we used a dremel, and the slot goes from .125 to .164 in the middle. Size 7 mesh was used. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Turn down the flow for now.

Also you can wedge some extra screen into the slot at the end.

Or could I have the water enter at the center of the pipe? Have a tee at the center of the slot?

Yes but a lot of water will be forced out the middle.
