    I think having a surge on the scrubber is key to getting good algae growth. The algae needs time to breath before it gets submerged again... It's been 3 days since I harvested and I am almost ready to do it again.

    I agree. I'll be trying a pulse on my acrylic soon. With a pulse, the algae stays soft and watery and does not stick to the screen. However for ease of cost and building, it really simplifies things to not have one.
