Stats
55 gallon tank
Wet area (the plastic canvas part) of the screen is 12 x 13 inches - 156 sq inch
Flow is about 460 gallons per hour (imperial) - about 38 gallons per inch of screen width.
Light is a 42 watt compact florescent spotlight (not sure about this, I think the colour may be wrong it's 4000 K http://bit.ly/e3t7rj)
The screen is made from a piece of limestone floor tile, I was going to just use this but it isn't consistently rough enough and attempts to rough it up failed, so today I added a section of roughed up plastic canvass (roughed up very well with a vibrating saw tool).
I think I need to tweak the flow a bit to get it more even.
Thoughts?
