New Scrubber. Quick Question

I have had my scrubber up for 8 days now and of course it is not a full mat of algae just yet. Should I wait until the end of the second week before cleaning it or should I clean it now? As per the 7 day rule

you can go 10 days for a while so it gets a foothold but 7 days after that happens is best

I was doubting this scrubber thing but the laast two days I've seen much more growth but I'd say it is more of a film of green and not a mat.
