Nice first build. Good flow.

Lighting is a little weak for that size screen, since T5's lose power near the ends. And if you rebuild it, you could move the light much closer to the screen... you are losing a lot of the light out the sides.

Horizontals need more size and wattage to overcome the algae islands that build up and slow flow. You have pretty good flow, so that will help; the more you can angle it, the better.

With 48 watts, I'd say this unit would be medium filtering for a 40 gal.
