I'm still new here, But
you did not list much info, I've used many kinds of salt with not much of problem, some are a better mix
But here is my 2 cents on what I think you are asking.
Green tank Water:
"algae bloom" Um,,, if your talking about your water in your tank is turning Green, you have issues. Normally a algae bloom is when your tank water turns green Over night to where you can't even see threw the water. If that is the bloom your talking about, I would suggest 30% water change and put a UV filter on it a,s,a,p if you have anything still live.
Green Hair
Or if you are talking alot of green hair, simply get your N and P down, 5% change to day, and every 2 days another 5% untill you N and P is lower, GHA loves P
"phosphate"
For a coral tank, my rule of thumb is anything over 40% water change at one time is a serious and scarry thing for me, I would rather do a little a day, over a 3 to 4 day time. If that would happen to my new tank setup, I would GO nuts. Green water Algae Bloom is sign of tank crash in my book.
But since your here on this site, is your Scrubber not working ? Simply need more info.
