Anyone else have major sponge growth after running their ATS?
Lost my angel to a power outage. Dont think he ate that much to account for what I have now.

Well of course there is my yellow one that I already posted...

you mean scypha sponges by any chance?
I've got tons, none of them in direct light.
They're helpfull filter feeders and will grow quickly in tanks with hight DOCs like tanks with scrubbers and not too high a level of skimming!
@SM that's a beautiful yellow sponge. Think sponge is gonna be my new focus now that I know I can keep em.
As for mine. I have a large red, and a few blue. But the ones taking over aren't scypha. They're a greenish white looking puff ball that can move! Put a new rock in and within a day it had sponges "crawling" across it. Weird ass things. Must have a thousand or more without exaggerating. Also it's tube worm city in my sump/fuge. Should up a vid like you SM. Crazy the amount I have.
That's what everyone should do... post pics of all their micro-life.
I have a ton of sponges and tube worms all over the place. I'll have to take a fauna video some day.

It did get a lot bigger at one time but it's receded lately. I didn't know they were flow dependent (to be honest I hadn't even realised it was a sponge!), I'll have to aim a powerhead at it and see if it comes back.
Mine is very flow dependent.... it seeks out the powerhead and makes a trail to it.
