    what went wrong????

i dosed my tank with seachem iron as directed on the bottle and the next day my tangs were dead  i dont have an iron test kit but this was the first time any iron has been added to my tank other than what might be in my makeup water. are tangs more sensitive to iron than other fish? everything else in my tank seems to be fine

I dosed a half gallon of Kents iron. All the tangs lived. Killed half the corals.

My tank is a 125 fowlr with a turf scrubber that's been working great. Everything was fine and healthy till 12.5 ml of iron (5ml per 50gal) was added. So that had to be the culprit?

Hard saying. I was taking over maintenance on a 125 with three 3-stripe damsels, a yellow tang, and a 10" dog faced puffer with N > 1000 and no PWC for 3-5 years, I added a little alkalinity solution the night before the first PWC and that killed the yellow tang within hours. Another yellow tang another tank died when the lights got left on for 24 hours accidentally, he freaked out and bled out. Neither of those made any sense to me.
