Always wanted one of these, so today I saw this and treated myself, it gets delivered tuesday.
i guess I've increased my chances of success by running a scrubber, so let's see !

Very cool. Never heard of that coral before. Looks like a cross between a Dendro and a branching Duncan.
Cheers Ace, a bit of info on them;

I have had the black sun coral in the past and still have a yellow in my frag tank. I agree that they are awsome corals. I have had 3 different wrasse's (trying to save the coral) learn to hit the head. The coral would then open up its mouth exposing its food. It was very hard with this going on to train the coral to open when the lights where on. It's also not fun catching wrasse's in a reef DT. So I traded the coral off before I lost it.
Was disappointed at the condition of the coral when it was delivered as it was supposed to be a whole coral (not a frag) and totally healthy (not with massive tissue recession);
Ah well, what can you do? Apart from carry on with a revised plan!
Acclimatised it;
Chopped away the crap bits;
Stuck it to some rock;
After a while sulking, I was rewarded by a swelling
And on the first night was attempting to feed;
This is how he looks 48hrs on;
Quite pleased with the turnaround actually. Now to get the hungry boy to grow!!
I am sure you know this already, feed feed feed.. those types of corals are PIGS when it comes to hand feeding and they will thank you for it.
Sucks about the tissue on the base but it looks like it is making a strong come back already.
Can't find any pictures on the web of Tubastrea Micrantha spawning, so perhaps these are the first !
